I am truly trying to keep up with this blog & to do a good job. Please have patience with me.
Kiersten has had so many milestones recently. She turned 15 in May, she took drivers ed this summer & passed with flying colors & is driving me around now. Does she love to drive? NO! I just can't believe it, I swear she's nothing like her mother! She NEVER asks to drive. I have to TELL her that she's driving. No worries though she has until she's 16 1/2 before she gets her drivers license, so I think she'll get enough practice in.
Kiersten also got her Class Ring today. I'm so excited for her, I remember getting mine & how that made me feel. I love her ring too!
Zach will be 14 in just a few days! I know that he'll be on me hot & heavy for the Facebook, but I hope to hold him off for just a little while longer. No huge milestones for Zach just yet, but they'll be coming. He's in 8th grade & he is in the Honor Society & the 8th grade gets to do quite a bit with the Honor Society. I can't wait for him to experience the different community service things they do. Like the Middle School Can Drive. The Honor Society kids march around the school acting silly & chanting for kids to bring cans in. They Count all of the cans, sort them, box them, load them on to the bus & take them to a local food bank in Corydon & then they unload them & stock the shelves! I think this is such a great experience & I'm happy that he gets to do it.
Zach will also be going to DC this year with the 8th grade. I'm so lucky that I get to go again! I got to go with Kiersten & it was such a great trip. Not sure if I'll get to chaperon Zach & his group, but as long as I'm on his bus I'm good. I didn't chaperon Kiersten's group, but she was on my bus & still got to be in the same area as her. I'm so lucky to be able to stand back & watch not only my kids, but the other kids see things for the 1st time.
As you can tell I love my kids dearly & I'm so very proud of them too. They are such great teenagers. I'm really not the type of person to brag, but I'm so happy that I can brag about them. I hope that they remain great teenagers, but I know that I could wake up one day & that teenage monster has taken them over & if that does happen I hope that the MOM MONSTER can overpower it :). I know I will try.

Beginning Late
I'm not really Beginning Late as to starting all over with a new Blog. I tried this sometime ago, but wasn't good about keeping up. I know I will do better this time! Surely I will, right?
Stay posted for some exciting updates (yeah I'm a big teaser). I'm really not an exciting person, just seem to be a busy person.
For those that don't know ANYTHING about me - here is a little run down.
I have 2 kiddo's & a Step-Daughter, Grandson & Son in-law. I also have a wonderful Husband that puts up with A LOT out of me :).
My Daughter - Kiersten is 15 EEEK! She is a great kid & not yet a normal teenager. She is still really respectful & listens to me. She started Drivers Ed at the first of June & is doing well. She gets nervous, but I try to remain calm & patient, even when it looks like we are going to wipe out a mailbox, or she forgets to look before she pulls out on to a road. Practice makes perfect right? I just wish that tanks weren't so expensive. At times I'm pretty sure that we'd be safer in one of them.
Kiersten plays Tennis in the Spring & loves it. She is improving each year. She is also involved in several clubs at school. She is the Treasurer of the Student Council for her class, member of FCA, Relay for Life, Renaissance Club & the Spanish Club. She stays really busy - which is a good thing.
My Son - Zach is 13 & fast approaching 14 EEEK again :). What to say about Zach - well he is ALL boy! He's getting the grasp of the snotty teenager thing a little more so than his sister, but not too bad just yet. I just know the time will come with both of them & pray that god will grant me patience.
Zach loves to hunt, which he does with his dad - his favorite is running their Beagle's. I really don't understand sitting out in the cold to wait on something to come to me & kill nor do I understand chasing after dog's that are chasing after a critter for you to kill. I like to hunt in the grocery store much better. You don't have to put on a ton of garb, nor do you have to put any urine on you, nor do you have to be quiet. You hunt for the food that you think that you'd like to eat - you pay for it - take it home & cook!
Zach also plays Baseball - everyone always asks what position he plays & there really isn't a good answer because he can pretty well play any position & moves around almost every inning. He doesn't pitch a lot however, but he plays Short, 3rd, 2nd, Catcher, Right, Left & Center field. I have been told that is called an All Utility Player. I have learned a lot about Baseball over the past 9 or so years, but for the most part I'm the Mom that shows up & hopes for the best for all of the boys & I don't get too upset about striking out or missing a play. Heck I've even been known to tell a player on the opposing team - good hit or great catch etc... I really don't think that you are suppose to do that at this level, but I just can't help it.
Step-Daughter & Family - My Step-Daughter - Khirstin - her son, Braeden & husband, Derek live in Pennsylvania. Khirstin is a Doctor & in the process of doing her residency. She works ungodly hours - I really don't see how she does it. I know there is NO way I could go that much! Braeden is a sweetheart! He is the best kid that you've ever been around! He is so funny too. I have been told that he likes tennis & has participated in a few Tennis camps. I know he loves his video games too. We miss them soo much - wish we could see them more often!
Husband - Ron - what can I say about Ron? Well he is a simple man, but complicated as well :). He is very quiet & doesn't talk a ton. He was brought up that you don't speak unless your spoken too. What in the world is that all about? My gosh, if everyone in this world was that way then no one would talk haha!
Ron is a SUPER guy! He would to anything for anyone & he would do it before he did for himself. He is such a giving person!
Ron is also a farmer. He works so hard, but I was fired from helping some time ago. You know when you aren't raised on a farm it's hard to understand it all & well I made some BIG mistakes, so without saying a word he fired me. You ask how did I find out? Well I would ask him - do you want me to bush hog? Do you want me to Disc? Do you want me to shell the corn? Do you want me to unload the truck? Do you want me to load the truck? Do you want me to empty the grain cart? Do you want me to drive the grain cart? His answer ALWAYS no! So I finally got the clue that I had been fired. This past fall though I was re-hired for one job & that was driving the Grain Cart & I didn't mess anything up either - so I think that I might get that job again this fall.
I'm also still good on transporting. I'm still allowed to come pick him up from a field or deliver him to a field - in the car people :).
I guess this is long enough - we shall see who reads this, but I will post more later, I PROMISE!!!
I have many pictures to add as well - so you'll know that I didn't just make all of this stuff up, I'll post the proof too :).
